Canon Extender EF 1.4

Hi all,

I am considering buying a Canon Extender EF 1.4x. I believe there is currently a Canon Extender EF 1.4x II at around £215 and Canon Extender EF 1.4x III around £525.

Is the third worth the extra £300 odd pounds?

I am hoping to use this with a 5D II and maybe a 2.8 70 - 200 canon lens for some sports and wedding picts inside church etc.
 
The version III is not available yet. It will probably drop in price a few months after release.
1.4X mk II works well with 70-200 2.8.
 
I've used the 1.4 Mk II in the past and was really surprised how good it was.
Used it with a 70-200 f2.8 IS.
 
I use a mkII and find it famtastic. Would like to try the mkIII but I am very happy with mine
 
As above, the mark III is due sometime in December and I would have thought the price will drop after a few months.

From the reviews I've read the mark III is supposed to be giving better results with the AF system
 
Thanks all for your advise. I won't really be using it that much at the minute so mite hold off to see what happens this month with the mk III. If it doesn't come down in price a mk II should do my job as I will be spending enough on camera, lens etc

Yes, thats what I've decided to do, will hold off for a few months and hopefully the price will come dowm to near the price of the Mark II model
 
My 1.4mk2 and the 2x mk2 work fantastic with my 70-200l mk2

Seems I need a MkII 70-200 f2.8 or a 1.4X for my MkI as the x2 MkII isn't that sharp on the MkI lens. :(

Hope the MkIII will push the price down of the MkII 1.4X
 
Don't now if its just me. But it seams the prices of the MKII have come down quite a bit in the last week or two.

I only noticed as I am looking for a new 2x MKII
