Just a heads up, got my cheque today from canon for my 70-200 f2.8 L which I brought from bignorman.com

So looks like canon accept bignorman for cash back.
 
Slightly OT, but thank you for reminding me to file a cashback claim for my 70-200 f/4L. I'd forgotten all about it with the super-long jubilee weekend.

How long ago did you send off for your cashback? I'm coming up to 2 months now and still haven't had my cheque!

I did it online on the 1st may and the cheque dropped on my mat this morning.

Sadly not - my budget wouldn't stretch that far. I should be okay without IS for how I want to use the lens (and I have a compact monopod on order just in case it isn't), and since the resale value is good I can upgrade to the IS version at a later date without incurring too much additional cost.

Its still a great lens IS or not :)
 
I came across this forum as I was looking for information about bignorman and cashback for canon lenses. Unfortunately my cashback claim was rejected by Canon and when I rang them up was told bignorman was being investigated by then.

What did you buy from them out of interest?
 
Canon are supposed to be cracking down on imports from different regions being claimed against another regions warranty as well. I've heard a couple of stories now.

I did saying they had received my claim, but then nothing until the cheque turned up

I just got one... and part of me feels like they have not decided, but another part thinks it has gone through

I didn't receive any PMs from an "Admin Cashback"

And seeing as I wasn't eligible for the cashback offer, they are most likely selling grey imports.

Think so but I got cash back on my 70-200 f2.8 L Maybe because it was an 'L'

Good luck, wish I could've have been one of them. Definitely regretting my decision to buy from them now. Next time I'm sticking to the retailers I know that carry official stock.
