First off I've used Eos SLRs before but never wanted to stomach the cost to get one of my own (never sure I'd use it enough to justify). I like the idea of a CSC as its less bulky and still has interchangeable lenses. Although since most CSCs are the same sort of money as SLRs, I hadn't bought one of those either.

So luckily I got one for my birthday recently, the Eos M10. I like it and have shot some good photos so far, using it more than I thought I would but there's a couple of things which I think I need help with.

The first is a viewfinder. I was aware that CSCs don't have them by default but a lot can have them added. Does anyone know if the M10 can have some kind of viewfinder added? Looking at the more advanced M3, the M10 is missing the slot the M3 has for an external viewfinder; does this mean one cannot be fitted any way at all? It's not the end of the world not having one, but having used the likes of a 700D before it would be quite handy.

The second is settings on the camera. I would quite like to adjust the ISO to get night time photos but the camera insists on using the flash when it is dark (it won't let me shoot at all without the flash). So my question is, is the ISO adjustable on this camera, and if so, how? I found the manual pretty useless tbh.

Your only view finder options are ones that clip on to the LCD screen in some way. They aren't ideal and increase the size of the camera some what, but they may be useful on very bright sunny days. There are some cheap ones available, just make sure you get the right size for your screen.

I don't have the M10 but it looks like you can set everything manually if required. I know when I got the original M I only got a quick start guide with it, but found something more comprehensive online.
 
Brilliant, thanks for the info.

I was afraid that those kind of viewfinders were the only ones available for my camera but so be it. Like I said it isn't a major issue but just would have been nice. I think I'll make do without one for now.

I guess I should've looked online for a manual before posting!
