Hi the old man is thinking of getting a canon eos m 18 with the adaptor will this take sigma lenses ok thanks

The adapter should take any lens that you can put on a standard Canon DSLR. The adapter accepts EF and EF-S mounts, so any Sigma, Tamron or even Zeiss lenses :)

Yup - I had one - worked fine with all manner of lenses!

Cheers guys I'll let him know is the camera any good he upgrading from a nikon D40

I recently picked up an EOS M and have been really impressed with it. It has the latest firmware on it and the AF seem fast and reliable, though for action photography I would choose a DSLR over it. The two native lenses are both very good, the 18-55 is sharp for a kit lens and the 22mm pancake is a real gem. I have used a few different Canon lenses with it and they all work fine, I haven't tried a third party lens on it yet but will soon. There is a thread about the EOS M running (will find a link) but there don't seem to be many users, but I have put some of my test shots in it.
