Bargain Canon EOS M 18MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm Lens £199.95

I went and collected one from my local Argos store following your original post, Tony, many thanks and it's brilliant camera. It's so good, I shall be leaving my 7D at home when I go on hols the beginning of October. I must get another battery though, any recommendations?

I am also having lots of fun using my FD lenses.:canon:

Another bsttrry to look at is the ExPro White EP-12.

I got 2 from Amazom <£20

Got 4 days of shooting on one battery onmy travels. Im Amsterdam now and second battery showing full still. It went in 8am yesterday.

Great camera for travelling light. The 22mm f/2 is a fantastc "street" lens.

Happy shooting

Steve

WEX are doing the camera, 22mm lens, EF adapter and flash for £329.00 ... also comes with a free Manfrotto compact tripod which sells for £50 LINK

I have ordered this one as I wanted the 22mm and adapter.

That's a superb price Mike, you're getting a lot for your money there.

Cheers for the tip. Got mine from Argos £199. Very impressed. It does struggle with Moving objects like my kids but for its price its great!!

Same here from Argos. Got adapter and 22mm as white box items off ebay.

Really enjoying travelling with the full M kit plus my ef 40mm pancake. The ef-s 55-250mm purrs on the M! Dropped and broke my nifty 50mm though :-(

2/3rds of my journey done and cannot speak highly of the M. Not had problems of shooting fast moving subjects mentioned, checking firmware is latest v.2.0.2 might be worth it.

Am wondering if I will get as much use of my DSLR kit when I get back.

I have a skin on the camera, helps a lot.

Quick update

Argos seem to have new stock of the basic EOS M + 17-55mm kit lens + 90EX flash kit back in. This time the red body (though a frie d has said he has reserved a white body pack.

Still at £199.99

Might be a chance to get one for xmas. Am tempted to get a red one to use in a pair (22mm pancake on 1and my 55-250 stm on the other. Will offset cost by selling my 30D.

My EOS M is first choice these days.

Thats it, i blame you lot i been and got one from argos yesterday after reading this thread

It was a Walimex one from Amazon - they don't list it currently but similar to this;

http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/mob...ts_id=easycover-silicone-skin-for-canon-eos-m

It made a diference during my tril.

Also I picled up an EF-S 10-18mm STM on thd forum recently and am very pleased with how well it sits on my M. Cheaper than the EF-M version if you have the mount adapter.
Brill thanks. I really want a wide angle lens too, but think I will save up for the M Version. The smaller size and reduced weight (especially without the adaptor) makes it worth paying extra for me, and from what I've read it performs well too.

Welcome aboard Jason :) I think it takes a bit of getting used to but I'm sure it won't be long before you come to love it.

Welcome to the dark side.

I am collecting one today. Couldn't resist the red body. So a back up M for my M So one prime or UWA and one zoom.

The M is basically the 600D without the mechanicals.

Can I suggest the 22mm pancake STM EF-M lens - a sweet small walkabout. Also the EF-M to EF adaptor. A dig around on EBay got me both for £65 & £60 each.

The EF-S 10-18mm UWA STM and 55-250mm STM basically cover my daily needs with the above listed EF-M and are cheaper than the EF-M equivalents.

I also use the 40mm EF pancake on it which is an STM too so all quiet focussing and with the pancakes very discrete (churc/cathedral interiors etc).

The 90EX speedlight is competent enough but I leave it behind sometimes preferring the 270EX when I need a bit more power.

My bag is much lighter these days and the M just works for me.

Final suggestion. If you end up planning a whole day with your M, get a couple of extra batteries. The bog standard one is fine but I learned the hard way. I had 3 for my European trip in September!

Good stuff

I got a silicon body cover which helps with the handling and when using the heavier lens. Bristol Cameras have one gor under £20.

I have ordered a meike adapter for my m. Look forward to trying my other lenses out. Going to order a 22mm lens as well soon.

The 22mm is £164.49 on Amazon and as low as £59.99 on EBay

It is a really sharp lens
