hey im new here, after some help fixing a fault with my camera.

i have a canon EOS 1000F SLR camera.

basically when packing for holiday i got my camera back from my sister because she had been using it for college. she still had a film in it and in haste i just pulled the film out without rewinding it. now everytime i put a new film in it tries to rewind it and ruins the new film.

does anyone know a way of reseting the camera so it will accept a new film instead of wanting to rewind?

thank you in advance!

luke

dont know about the 1000f but theres a little plunger that detects a film in the camera, it may be possible to hold that down somehow to let it wind back and reset the counter ? not guaranteeing that will work and may be risky though so take it with a pinch of salt, if in doubt give a canon service centre a call and see if they will advise over the phone ?

ive tried that but without the back closed it wont do anything

what if i take a film and wind it all out of the cartridge and put it in and let the camera wind it back?

there will be another plunger to detect the back is closed, may need a seperate set of hands for that one ;)

problem with winding a film out is it would need to be wrapped round the feed roller, not sure if that would be possible to do manually without exposing all of the shots ?

im not bothered about wasting the shots, its wasted 5 films already as its rewound them and i cant get them back out.

Glad you've sorted the main problem.:)

You could pop the the 5 films down to your local photo processing shop. They will have a leader puller which will bring the film back out for you, ready to load again. Should be a free service too!;)
