Lo all. Going through some old stuff at the parentals I came across an EOS 650. I don't know too much about it apart from it looks to be the first camera in the EOS range. Anyone got any info? Is it any good? Does anyone know where to get the batteries for it? I am just interested as I take it all of my EOS fit lenses will work.

Still, it ain't as nice as my Olly OM2-SP!
 
All your EF lenses will fit, but EF-S lenses (Designed for crop cameras such as your 40D) will not. will have a look about the batteries for you now.
 
Thanks all. I have nifty 50 and my 70-200 that are EF fits. There was also some sort of 35-70 stuck to the front of it. Will have to retrieve from the parentals at some point. I get my HP5+ from 7DS usually too!

Ah, now that's a matter of opinion as to whether for better or worse (and I lurve my Minolta 7 and the 7D)
 
I picked up a 35-70 on here to use on an old EOS100, it's quite a nice lens except it sounds like a pepper grinder when focusing [but v quick!] and seems v susceptible to flare. There were 2 versions, one was AF only whilst the other had a MF/AF switch. Mine had a 1989 date code, so getting a bit long in the tooth.
 
I will have to look at the lens but it was on the front of the 650 so it must go with it!

It will fit, but you will just have the image circle/severe vignette of the EF-s lens that doesn't fill the full frame of 35mm, but it will screw on. If it is EF-s you will instantly be able to tell through the viewfinder.
 
Won't the mirror clip the rear protrusion of an EF-S lens unless you modify it?

Well they don't fit my EOS-3, that's for sure. Now, I've got a Sigma 10-20 that's from their DC (digitally crippled) range, and that will fit onto the EOS-3's mount - it's a EF mounting ring on the back, and doesn't project any further than normal EF lenses - but it's a digital sensor coverage, so when you look through the viewfinder, it's like looking out of a porthole. :lol:
 
Thanks for the battery tip peeps. I have ordered one of a guy on ebay from whom I get the batteries for my OM-2 SP. He gets a lot of custom from me!
 
My main camera's back in the day where a Nikon FM and a Canon EOS 650, nice piece of kit at the time and not cheap new!
 
Took it out with me today. Need to finish off my first film with it to see the results!
