Hi,
I have a 2 week old Canon EOS 600D + 18-135 lens kit (courtesy of Tesco reward points
).
I'm delighted with the picture quality and camera features but the "live view" swivel screen seems to have failed. To be honest, I've taken about 100 shots and always used the view finder, the only time I've actively used the live screen is for the menu.
Unfortunately, I get no graphics at all; not the basic info (when not in live mode), the preview playback of any photos on the card nor a picture when in live view.
When pressing the live view mode button there is a bearly discernable darkening or lightening of the screen (and the view finder shutter drops/opens) so it feels like the backlight (if there is such a thing) has failed.
I'm concluding there is a genuine fault with the camera but thought I should get a 2nd opinion as I'm pretty new to DSLRs and more than capable of only reading instructions when all else fails!
Cheers
