I'm encouraged by Canon's 'cash-back' offer of £160.

I can buy the camera (body only) at my local John Lewis store tomorrow for £2,399 includes a 2 year warranty and claim my £160 cash back.

John Lewis have a 'price-match' promise but I have to provide details. Whether this includes those who sell on-line only, I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience of these price-match offers from high street retailers like John Lewis?

Of course I won't have to pay any carriage charges and I buy locally instead of Hong Kong and I'm excited!!!

Any advice gratefully received.

John

Thanks Twist

I too think JL customer service is 2nd to none. Perhaps I'll try it tomorrow.

Cheers

John

I got mine from HDEW and paid £2499 for the body and the 24-105mm lens. Fair enough you don't get the rebate but you do get the 3yr warranty included. And they're UK based so no import duty etc. (Camera is grey and they don't hide that). Just something else to consider. Service was great and then ordered a 600EX from them after.

Be careful, JL will only price match on "identical" packages. If the store you're price matching against sells warranties then the cost of that has to be taken into account to match the 2 years they are offering on the camera. They should still match if the competing store only offers one year but doesn't sell warranties.
