canon eos 450D or 1000D

hi, im new to photography... obviously ive taken photos in the past but would like to upgrade to an slr.

Currently thinking of buying either a 450d or 1000d, I realise that the 450d has the biggest mega-pixel plus many other things but is it worth the extra 100quid

currently ive found the 1000d for £269 after the canon cashback deal. however something keeps telling me to get the 450d.

could somebody point out any obvious things which I should consider between the 2 which justifies the £100+

Jessops currently are doing the deal were you buy the camera and get the 75-300 lens for 100quid so thinking of going there to buy either.


Any help would be excellent!

the 450d has more megapixels, better fps (especially in raw where 1000d hits 1.5fps vs 3.5fps on 450d), more AF points (9 vs 7). I'm sure theres more, but cant think off the top of my head.

Don't get either, get a second hand 40D you'll be much happier and it will save you money in the long run
