Hello, what do you all think about the canon eos 3? Is it any good?
sally

as long as your aware its a 35mm, then yes it is a very good camera.

Yes. Absolutely fantastic.

But then I am biased as I have two. ;)

Add an f2.8 lens to one and with the 45 point focus (same as the 1-Series) you have a very fast focusing bit of kit indeed.

Very tough and sturdy, especially if all you are used to are the likes of the 350/20/30D Eos cameras. Obviously not quite as tough as the 1 Series but they do have SOME weather sealing and you can pick up a good example for less than £300. I managed to get a second hand one for £285 in 2005 and then a brand new one for £295 late last year. :D

It's my current weapon of choice when on Safari. Please see my 'Hello/Intro and pics from Kenya' thread in the Animal and Nature forum for some results.

Any particular reason why you are looking at one? :)

Where did you find a eos 3 for such a low price, I have been searching- I want a brand new one- and cannot find any with a lens for less than £900, I want a 28- 200mm zoom lens.

That sounds mighty expensive even if the 28-200 is the Canon one for about £270. Where have you been looking? I found both of mine on Ebay.

There is also a shop just down the road from me in town that has a second hand one for about £270.

Any reason you want a brand new one? They are as tough as old boots and good for 100,000 shutter actuations.
