Just bought an EOS 1V in mint condition with a film count of 15 rolls. The serial number is 1438XX does anyone know how to date it from the serial number.
I understand they were first sold in 2000 but don't know when production ended.

As far as I know Canon were still listing it as a current product in about 2008 - 2010, but as to when production ended I don't know. I know they ended production of the majority of their remaining film cameras like the EOS 3 in late 2007, but I'm not sure if the 1V was included in that.
 
I'm not positive, but quite sure it was still listed until 2012.

I have had a 1V-HS for several years and just love it.
