Yes
REcently bought a 10-18 for work wth my EOS R; It's not bad, but whats a good upgrade to this? Same lens focal length or similar, any make so long as it will fit Canon EF/EFS - any suggestions?

That lens is for a crop sensor, are you looking for full frame wide angle lenses and which mount RF or EF?

If you want it to fit regular EF and EF-S - then you can't go for an EF-S lens - and only an EF. So a wide angle zoom in that ball park would be the 16-35 2.8 or 4. I'd go the 2.8 mk2 if you didn't mind going used.

Sigma 10-20 F3.5 EX DC. I owned one a while ago although I sold it when I went FF as it's made for crop sensor. It's a lovely lens. It will be 16-32 FF equivalent on a Canon crop sensor body.

EDIT:- :- to add, Canon 17-40L can be had for around £300 used, a 24-105L MK1 for a bit more, both of which would be suited to FF.

Yes ideally full frame but I can still use on the R with the crop, and it’s acceptable!

Yes might well be the 16-35; I’ve already got the 24-105 but just need one a bit wider!

I think the 10-18 becomes aboht a 16mm one; bizarrely it doesn’t seem that wide on my eos R.. might be the case that’s the widest you can go before you starting doing all the viltrox tricks!

For FF look at the sigma 12-24 its wide, you get your feet in the shot if you are not careful

I'll check those out! For now I bought a Viltrox EFM2 0.71x which should work on my panasonic GH5 and take the canon 24-105 lens. But Bizarely.. it doesnt seem to make it wider!

Other random one for you - the viltrox adater refuses to fit the G95 I have, that and the Viltrox M1 adapter just don't seem to "click" on. Most odd!!

The G95 isn’t on the compatible list(EFM2 0.71x). For the wide angle I think you have to do the calculation 24mm x .71= 17.02 and multiply it by the crop factor. 17 x 2= 34mm

How about manual focus primes?
Laowa 15mm f2 or laowa 10-18mm (this is a FF lens)
UWA lenses is one area where you can make a fair bit of weight/size saving by going with mirrorless designed lenses.

You’re kidding me… I swear I used it on the g80 a good year or so ago and it was fine!

Ahh.. I’d thought it’s just minus not duplicate!! Oh well, such an idiot!
