Ive got the same lens, got it last year from 7dayshop paid £170 i think. Great lens for the money

I bought my camera with kit lens and 55-250 from these guys. Chap forgot to despatch order on day received which he apologised for and admitted to, otherwise it all went smoothly.

I understand they are the on-line division of a company which has several shops in the North West of England.

Ordered at 14:40 yesterday, arrived at 10:00 today.

If you are expecting a nice box, forget it. Having said that the lens was well packaged and has arrived in one piece.

Put a UV filter straight on and am about to go and try it out and about.
 
Took this at the full 250mm. Think it's pretty clear and crisp.

Have posted in the transport forum my rather poor efforts from Lakenheath. But quite happy with the lens itself.
 
They're still selling the Lens at this price; ordered mine on Monday morning, and it arrived the following day! As bitchinhighheels says, it's White Box, but for the money it's well worth it!
 
LoL, not that I've noticed, however I'll give it an extra special 'niff and get back to you!

After a very scientifically controlled test (smelling my 55-250mm and smelling my 18-55mm) I can conclude that no, it doesn't smell 'funny', sorry!

There is nothing wrong with smelling a lens!
When I first got my Canon 70-200L IS F4 I put my nose close to it and moved the lens from the front to the back and took in the wonder smell.
I also caressed it like it was my first true love :D

Enjoy the 55-250, it's a cracking lens for the money and mine served me well when I owned one.
