Yes
Just wondering if people are happy with theirs? And does the end wobble quite a bit when set at 85mm - is this normal or a dodgy copy?

No, no movement in the barrel on my 17-85. Did have movement on my old 28-135, but that was fine.

I'm pleased with the results from mine. Would like to upgrade it in the future to give me a bit more reach

I love mine, there is a bit of movement but as already said this is normal

This lens used to live on my camera almost constantly only ever coming of occasionally when I needed more reach, my recent acquisition of a 50mm 1.8 has meant that the 17-85 has stayed in the camera bag a little more

I use mine as my every day lens really and am happy with it... as mentioned above, I change when I need a bit more reach, or a faster lens if the light is low

I used to use this one, it came with my 40D. Build quality isn't as good as L series lenses but seems sturdy enough. Don't remember it wobbling... I'll check mine tonight to see if there's any play.

I thought the image quality was good on the whole, and a very useful range.

I don't use mine any more if anyone is looking for one!?

Very slight wobble at maximum zoom. It's a rather controversial lens. Excellent range for a walk about, and decent performance - proving you get a good one, some are reported to be a bit soft - but slow, indifferent build quality, and serious distortion at the wide end. This can be fixed in post processing, but it's a nuisance.

I got mine as part of a kit, and planned to sell it and buy something else, but I ended up keeping it. It was very overpriced when it first came out but you can find them for a lot less now. I'm going to replace it with the 17 - 55mm f2.8 when I can afford to, which isn't going to be any time soon, but even that isn't very well built for the price.
