Canon EF 50mm F1.4 USM lens focus ring continues to spin round after far ends of focus?

Hi Guys
Is this normal as Ive just bought one secondhand and none of my other lenses do this, so I'm a little worried?
Its not as smooth as when I focus but it still moves.

It's normal for any lenses with "Full time manual focus".

Like Bod says, it's normal.

tip: if you haven't already done it, put a hood on it and leave it there forever (as protection).
Your lens autofocus mechanism will appreciate it.

Reason being?

The 50 1.4 is known for having a bit fragile AF mechanism, so it isn't needed a big bump to damage it.
Always using the hood, prevents the lens barrel from beeing hit (and gives you contrasty pictures).
