Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM with Canon 7d mark 2

Hi there does anyone use this combo as a carry round? Is it viable on a crop sensor? Considering use for street and portrait.

My Mrs had a 24-70 2.8 sigma on a crop camera; whenever I picked it up it frustrated the hell out of me.

The wide end being closer to 40mm than 35 is too long for anything practical. The 70 end is good for portraits though, at a FF equivalent of 105 ish.

The Canon 17-55 2.8 is designed for the job and is perfect. Similar weight, similar price, it’s a no brainer.
