What do the collective know about this older lens?

I have an opportunity to pick one up.

Being an L, I presume it should be very good, but cant find much information.

I'm believe it will work fine on a 40d, could anyone confirm?

Any info appreciated.

It'll work on your 40D :)

You'd certainly hope it'd be good being an L..am looking forward to hearing of anyone's experiences :)
 
No problems on your 40d, a bit dated now and slow AF but a nice sharp lens all the same.;)
