I agree with the others, read a few of the topics on the basics on here then go out and play! Nothing beats just spending a few afternoons just going for a walk somewhere, finding an object then changing the settings to see how things change. Even trying out different settings inside can teach you about composing and exposing
If you do want a book though, i can recommend the "digital field guide" books. They make them for each individual canon camera so you should find one for the 600d soon if not out already
