Canon DPP software - no disc!

Hello all,

I have just bought a 40d on TP but did not get the utility/software disc (I knew this). Where can I download DPP? I have downloaded the latest update but can't install it as I don't have the disc but have heard it will work if I download earlier versions. Where can I find these?

you need a disk, perhaps someone more local to you could lend you one?
 
Install a genuine copy of version 1 from HERE and then you can update.

You can also do this by entering some registry entries in Windows - GOOGLE

I offered the disc with the cam but you didnt want it lol.

I can send you the disc that came with my 450d if you remind me your
postal address :thumbs:

lol..I know! I will PM you my address. I will return it once I have installed the software. ook the 40D out to some football..worked like a dream:D
 
it is really simple to install eos utility or dpp without disc...
open new text file, then pasty this text:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Utility]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\DPP]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\PhotoStitch
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Capture]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOSViewerUtility]

save file, change extension from .txt to .reg
once done it, run the file and now you can install downloaded files without a CD :) I do it all the time :)

Damn I am/must be really thick!! Could you explain this in a step-by-step process as I have tried but with my limited PC knowledge it is starting to do my head in :bang:!! My OS is Vista.

Just download version 1 from the link I provided in post #4 and then update to the latest version - Easy!

Can't install it. I have downloaded it but without the disc it won't install. I am useless with regedit stuff unless I have a step-by-step idiot guide :)
