Hi there guys, right for certain images i would like dpp to give me jpeg settings i used in camera on my raw files. When I open DPP the preview thumbnails look spot on, then when I open the file it seems to change the white balance, the exposure, adds fill light and some sort of green tint which i images is white balance change. Yet the preview thumbnails look excellent and that is what I want. Seems odd to me that it can display it properly as a thumbnail.

Any ideas on whats happening?

thanks in advance :)

just tested this as well and DPP cant reproduce the in camera jpeg when i compare by shooting RAW + Jpeg, so no point in using dpp then. its results look terrible.

My understanding is that there is a small jpeg embedded within the RAW file which is what is used for the preview thumbnail, this JPEG is based on the cameras in-built processing (like when you do RAW+JEPG). When you open the file in DPP it opens the unprocessed RAW rather than the embedded JPEG, resetting all your parameters to the default (i.e. white balance) - that's why it is changing.
I don't use DPP as I didn't get on with it, but does it have an auto adjust facility? That might set it to somewhere close to the JPEG settings.
