Anyone going to the Canon discovery day in London this weekend?

I signed up for a ticket online, shall I bring my camera with me?

sounds good - got a link?

nice one thanks!

are you thinking of going? I've signed up to the afternoon session. 1.30-4.00 pm or something.

that's full
so I signed up for 10:00 Saturday morning
bang goes my lie-in!:bonk:

Who went along ? Did you enjoy it - find it interesting, etc ?

I really enjoyed it AND it was an exercise in selling !

I went
better than I expected
got to try a few toys
50mm f/1.2L was nice but is it worth £v lots - hmm not sure

more of a marketing excercise though - they weren't actually taking money - were they?
(phew that was close)

the lighting bit was clever, if a bit artificial (talk about prepared earler)

yeh if only it was that easy.

That pro photographer was licking Canon's a**, do you think he really does love Canon or have they just paid him loads?

pro: does it for money
amateur: does it for love

:thinking::naughty:

For me the stage presentation was a complete and utter wast of time (I think I fell asleep for a few minutes). I had the feeling that most of the people in the audience were amatures or noobs who did not know much about photography and the EOS system.

The show and touch session after was a bit better, but nobody could answer any of the three main questions I needed answered, so no supprise that nobody could tell me how the new 1DS MK3 compares to a 16mp digital back on a medium format camera.

I think the mistake was mine in expecting something more then it was.
