Going around the bend here trying to make up my mind.

I'd like to buy a 85mm f/1.2 L Mark II. Also i'd like to get a 5D Mark II. The only thing i can't make my mind up is would i be better getting the lens first or the camera body?I know that both are a major investment.I'm going to try wedding photography next year and a lot of photographers have said that the 5D Mark II is excellent in low light.I would then be replacing my 40D for the 5d Mark II and have a 50D as a backup body. Thank's for any help inadvance...:)

Depends on the glass you currently have I would say. If you have some decent lenses in your bag then go for the body. But if you still don't have enough good glass then buy this first and then body later.

Just my thought on the topic.

The only thing i was afraid of lads is when shooting a wedding that I wouldn't be able to use flash,so thought i'd need the 85mm f/1.2.Another photographer i know here in Ireland has said to get the 5D Mark II as it is the killer wedding camera....:)

I use my 24-105 f4 in the church without issues. You have a 70-200 2.8 IS which would come in handy too! Would the 85mm give you enough reach on a FF body?

I guess if i used the 24-70 and the 70-200 i'd have everything covered then so.The wedding i'll be shooting will be in Adelaide,Australia and is my friends. It will be my first.I really don't want to mees things up so would love to have all the bases covered.

If you plan to keep your 50D then sorted! lens on each, 24-70 on the 5D and your setup for anything.

Shoot with confidence, you got more than enough equipment. I feel its all totally in the mind because you are given a truly awesome responsibility but it is the person behind the lens who takes the photo, not the camera itself. :D

Very true.I'd have to agree with you there...;)

You will find 85mm quite long on your crop bodies so go for the 5D first.

Don't overlook the 85mm f1.8, it's a truely great lens and would save a stack of cash towards that 5Dii....
