Recently treated myself to one of the above cameras.

Can another owner of one of these please tell me how I can set it up to show the Histogram on the LCD screen after taking a shot. I cannot seem to find the setup in the manual.

Bring up the image and then press the info button twice.

As a general bit of info, if the instruction booklet didn't come with it then I'm sure you'll be able to download it in PDF format from the Canon website. (y)

As Gary says, pressing the "Info" button rotates you through four formats of information displayed for the selected image.

What I've found useful is to download the manual from Canon's website. This PDF can be viewed on your computer allowing you to use the computer to search the manual for the specific information you're after.
(You can download the PDF from this page - https://www.canon.co.uk/support/con...r/eos_5d_mark_iii.aspx?type=manuals&language=)

FYI - the relevent information for your query is page 244 of the manual (well, in the version I have) under "Image Playback".

Edit: Mr Badger replied with a similar idea while I was typing :-)

Popped head in to say Info button, see it's been answered. :D

Great camera - enjoy. I have a couple fo custom modes setup, one for working with flash, manual settings, 1/125th shutter etc. The other for street, display off, beeps off, minimum shutter speed, f8 as starting default etc.

If this is a used camera you've bought it might be worth returning it to factory settings so that all the buttons do what they are supposed to.

No it is a brand new one.

Another tip regarding the manual..... I download the quick reference guides for the camera and flash to phone, that way if something strange happens whilst Im out I have the information to hand

Is it just me, or does the title of this thread bug anyone else?
Matt

Only a little bit, Matt. You cannot come to the Interweb for grammatical precision.

Thanks, will do that.

OMG after having Nikon for the last 6 years, still cannot get my head around the switch around of the number and letter, it will come soon.

Apologise to all Canon owners.
What made you swap?

They are just jealous because they want a 5D MK one hundred and eleven.:)
This is a thread for Canon users, so [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] off :-)

I have looked for the reference guides on the Canon site but cannot find them. Can I ask where you got them from.

Thanks

You may already know this but on quite a few settings pressing the info button will give you a guide on what they do.
