Though I'd vaguely heard about this a few months ago it wasn't until recently that Canon offered me a review unit to play with. Basically it's amedia hub that plugs into your TV and can download, view, store, share & print your photos - all from your TV. I tried to look at it from the perspective of a serious photographer -

It also represents my first foray into the world of video reviews too.

What do you think, is it something that you might find useful? I'm meeting Canon again this week - if it's not useful, what would make it useful?

I was wondering if it would function as an on site image tank. Say you've got a break (say wedding lunch), you could find a power socket, and assuming you can trigger the card transfer without going through on-screen menu, then it might do.

i think once you insert the card the transfer starts automatically which is what i intend to use it for on holiday etc and then use it to review the images in the caravan
saves tethering the camera via hdmi to the tv which i don't like doing, children and trailing wires don't tend to mix too well :(
no misshaps yet but it always has me on edge

mine is scheduled to arrive on the 27th i won't know what it can do until then but i'm pretty sure it will do what i want
there has also been a few firmware updates since launch that makes it a little more versatile and should give more options on how and what it can be used for

i'm also curious what voltage it accepts i presume it's either going to be 5 or 12 volts at around an amp which could make it portable either from a power brick or the cars 12 volt lighter socket and an appropriate lead

Yes, I’ve just bought one too. At £29 + £3.99 postage I figured it was definitely worth a punt. If all goes to plan then I will use it as an additional back up to my iCloud.
Now I’ve bought one I guess I should look into it a bit more :ROFLMAO:
