Sorry about making this a new thread but id rather it be seen sooner rather than later.

Got a letter from Canon this morning stating:

"Unfortunatly we could not send out your payment because of the following reason (s):

The receipt you submitted was dated prior to the qualifying period for this promotion.

And obviously it wasn't, I received the invoice email off Kerso (Ian) on the 6th of December 2007 and on it, it says

Sale date: 5/12/2007 Ship Date 6/12/2007

Now I checked and double checked everything before I sent it off, what do you think I should do from here?

edit: Did the obvious, clicked "contact customer services" and explain in the Additional Information the situation, I wont be home till 6pm + do you think the call center will still be open? (Does anyone have the number?)

In the previous promotion (summer 07) the number for Canon Promotions Dept was 0845 084 8978.

I didn't have the same issue as you, but my problem was resolved within a day. I was quite impressed with the eagerness to help. I doubt they open on the weekends.

I'm still waiting for mine from last July despite several phone calls and e-mails.

Thats the issue I had.

I called them up and explained it all. Since they had the barcode (when i posted it to them) i had to fax them a copy of my receipt, along with a covering letter. After I faxed it I called them again to confirm receipt and I got my payment within 21 days.

Already sent a 2nd copy of the receipt. The guy supposed to be dealing with my claim is Ruben Coppens. Just sent him another e-mail.

I mentioned in the e-mail that Canons offer was being talked about on this worldwide site right now. Wonder if they will come on and read it.

It's ridiculous the carry on they have with this style of promotion...keen enough for us to buy the gear but not so keen to give us our money back quickly and effeciently. I'm still wating although I got an email on the 2nd saying it should be with me within 20 days so still have to wait til 22nd and thats from sending it in on about 10th of December. Come on Canon get your act together.:nono:

Thats who I spoke to, and perhaps I caught him on a good day, but he was very helpful.

Also, I get the impression that the actual promo isn't being run by Canon themselves, but a 3rd party. Either way, it isn't good that these issues occur.

Perhaps they got your details mixed up with another claim. Still not good though but I guess they deal with thousands of claims every day.

Anyway, have PMd contact details for Rubon Coppens, based on an email reply I got from him.

Hope this helps, Mark

Received a reply back today:-Cheque ****** was mailed out to you on 11/01/2007.

Now I have to find out if it was sent out today and the year is wrong or if it is the American date 1st november 2007.

And I am still waiting for mine:annoyed:, even after faxing Ruben Coppins copies of the original claim and giving me the impression it would be given priority.
Here is the other thread for those that have not seen it.

I agree, the cashback claims are possibly being handled by a third party.

Well i airmailed mine off last monday to them and have not had any contact as of yet. How long did you guys find it took for email confirmation to say they has got yur claims?

I sent mine off just after the new year and got the confirmation email today. They say I'll get payment in 20 days. Lets see if they live up to their promises.

Sent mine in December and got an email at the beginning of Jan to say it was all ok.. then another last week to say as it at the end of the promotion, they are very very busy so it could be some time.

How long does it normally take to get a email from them, I posted mine off 3 weeks ago but not heard anything yet.

Just opened my post and I finally have the cheque in my hands.:clap::clap:

Next time I will remember to send it airmail instead of just popping a first class stamp on it:bonk:

:):):)

Airmail to Ireland ...is it needed? I just stuck a first class stamp on mine, probably why I havent got a email yet.

That is how my delay started, they never received it!. The promotion before that one was sent Special Delivery and was ok

I do hope you have kept copies of everything, I had to fax off copies of mine to get the claim started.

I've always sent mine first class... and had no problems... except they say they have a backlog at the moment because of the end of the promotion at the end of december.

I just stuck a first class stamp on mine, chucked it in the post box and had an email a few weeks ago saying my cashback claim was being processed but there could be a delay. I've got codes to track it's progress online.

Does your code work ? I have never had a code work yet and must have had about 4 in total.

yes, just checked again before posting :)

doesn't really give that much info, just that the claim is "in progress" !

I presume that you just the submissionstatus.com link

Yep, and I am not the only one that has had codes not recognised.

I reckon they are not all that organised as mine was to be paid direct into my account but arrived as a cheque.

I sent one off mid december and got my cash last week,I sent anothe about a week after the first one, just got a email saying there is a huge backlog but expect my cheque in 20 days.

I reckon I must just have been lucky with all my cashback claims as none of them have taken longer than four weeks between sending off the claim and receiving the cheque - not even those posted over the Christmas period. True I did send them all airmail, but only because the lady in the post office said I needed to because of the destination address.

All's well that ends well. Glad you got it sorted eventually Mal:thumbs:

I sent mine airmail as well as recorded. If its signed for, they can not claim they didn't get it.

:( still waiting for payment.. but at least I got the confirmation that they received the paperwork
