Hello guys can anyone help me out here I'm a bit stuck on what to do. I brought a Canon Speedlight 580EX ll from a seller called 123Fstop on eBay in his add it says You can claim cash back on this flash.

But i have 2 problems first is when you go to do the cash back on canon's website it wants you to send In a photocopy of the receipt or cash register receipt. The only receipt i have is the paypal one. But in his add he states that a Proper invoice will be provided to suffice any needs. I have sent them a number of emails but no reply as of yet. I think my email system may be busted.

Then the next thing I'm stuck on is that Canon ask the question ( Which store did you purchase the Canon Products from? ) Now i don't know what to put here i believe i would put
123Fstop.com as that's there website.

I have sent them a number of emails 2 from in side of eBay and one to there Gmail account but not had any reply yet.
So i think i may have a problem my end with email's. I know there meant to be realy good at getting back to people fast so that's why i think i have a problem .

Anyone had the same problem at all ? as with out a receipt i do not think i can take part in canons cash back :(

Please note I am not saying anything bad about this seller as there P+P was super fast and the packing was top notch. I would Recommend then to anyone and I will be using them againe soon to get a 50mm of then.

So can anyone fill me in on away to fill out the canon form or is it best to hold on for a bit to see if seller gets back to me with a receipt.
 
Have you tried contacting him via ebay?

As for the store put 123Fstop, I did a similar thing last year with Kerso using his store name of Flash camera and didn't have any problems.

I'm sure he will send you a receipt through once you get in touch, seems a bit odd given the canon cash back offer that he didn't do this in the first place?
 
Hi yer as i put i have sent about 2 emails from with in eBay. You know there ask the seller a question. And one to there Gmail account. I have spoken to a guy that's just brought a flash of them as well and he got his receipt all most there and then after he sent the email. That's why i think my email may not be working or maybe there just not around right now. I'm just panicking ab it as £40 is a lot of money and part of the fund to my next lens.
 
If you paid by paypal, the paypal receipt should suffice.

Yep I have printed off and used the paypal receipt, with no problems
I always put "web based sale" in where did you buy it. if you look on the sellers web site it will give you a location just put that in.
As I understand it the bar-code will tell them ( Canon) if it was a UK based transaction or not

Oh thanks guys ill give it till say next week to see if i do get a receipt in my email. Then if not ill do the above. And hope for the best lol. As you say it was brought in the UK so should be no problem then.
 
you should be fine, sorry i missed the bit about sending your emails from within ebay :( but if thats the route you have taken its more than likely he's just away. hope you get it sorted :)
 
still no email from this guy going to try to send him 1 last email and hope for the best.
 
start a paypal dispute if you paid by paypal, that usually gets their attention, if he advertised that he'd supply you with a receipt then he's breaking his part of the deal by not supplying it.

Just had a look at his ebay page, his photo of the 580 flash is taken on his front wall, i've asked him if he'll supply me with a VAT receipt, if he has almost 3000 feedback selling high priced gear he should be VAT registered

Just noticed the seller is US registered

Hi wack61 yer he is in the US but i think he works the same as Kerso i believe Kerso is all so from the US.
 
I received a reply the same day when asking a question, this was it

I am sorry but we do not provide VAT invoices.
You can however apply for cash back.

looks like he's ignoring any questions he doesn't like the look of, I don't see how goods shipped from within the UK in the volume he's doing aren't supplied with a VAT invoice as the volume he's doing would put him over the VAT turnover limit
 
Do you *really* need a VAT invoice? I personally wouldn't bother with the heartache of chasing the guy over something so small. Send a copy of the paypal receipt in for the cashback and you will be fine, used it a few times without issue.
 
All sorted now he had sent after a couple of email's but my emil system was junking them. But as i say wll use againe if he can get sigma lenses
 
that seller 123fstop is good. I recently ordered a 17-85 IS lens from him. After a few days the lens was not delivered and I emailed him saying I needed the lens. He quickly replied the last one he had in stock was broken when he checked it before dispatch and that he was waiting for new lens to come. I asked him for a refund and he gave me the refund without question. He even sent me a free Hoya filter and apologised!

Another excellent ebay seller is adani505. I already bought 70-200 f4, 50 1.8, 24-105L, and the latest is a 580EX II from him.
I only had a problem with the 580EX II but he sorted the problem out very quickly.
He also gives receipts with every transaction.

I had a problem with kerso with a previous transaction and he takes ages to reply to emails and he was so arrogant so based on my experience, I never bother to look at his listings.

So to sum it all up:

1. adani505 - Excellent and the best!
2. 123fstop - Good
3. kerso - my mum always told me " If you have nothing good to say, better not say anything" ! ;)

1) used them in the past fast efficient and polite :thumbs:
One of my orders ( canon 2x TC) was delayed a week due to "the last one being sold" before I "got in there"
a full refund offered (by return of email)
or £10 refund offered if I was prepared to wait a week no contest
£10 refund accepted and goods arrived within 7days thats service :thumbs:
2) no problems :thumbs:
3) your mum and mine must be related :D
 
Well guys got my £40 today from Canon must say it was fast this time around 12 days

That reminded me to do a check as I am waiting on a refund as well
They are being slow with mine this time :( its taken them 3 weeks to post but at least "its on its way" now ( please allow 10 working days etc)
 
I found a good way to get ure money faster. When you get the first email to say it will be with you in like 20 days phone them up and get them to put it in to ure bank account knocks days of
 
hmmm well i'll have to try that....cashback offer is still in effect, fingers crossed (!!)...that would mean the price of my 580EXII would be just about 200!
 
hmmm well fingers crossed, mines just gone in the post today....hopefully six weeks (or less!) from now I'll be 40pounds richer :)...opted for the wire transfer option which was able to do via their online thingy, rather than phoning 'em up after, too.
 
I received my cheque from canon yesterday, they turned it around in 2 weeks, much faster than previous cash back I've had :)
 
an IBAN stands for "international bank account number", every bank account in the world nowadays has one...basically it's a very long unique code, comprised of a series of alphabet characters and numbers, all of which represent details of your financial institution's location, your account, etc.
The online form thingy also asked for your account's swift code....maybe you could phone Canon's promotion department up after you get the IBAN code from your bank (I just called mine and wrote it down to keep as seems nowadays all bank related transactions ask for it).... and then just quote the ref. number that Canon gave when you completed the online form to advise them you'd rather have a wire transfer.
 
well, lookin as though im not gonna get my £40 cashback! apparently i checked the status via canon's site, and seems that the cashback was sent via wire transfer to me on the 20th (supposed to allow about 5days according to them for banks to show receipt), well its been a couple of weeks, and still no sign :(! i tried to email them through their enquiry form on their site for cashback enquiries, but it was out of action...d'oh! im so sad :( :( :( i knew i should have gone for the cheque option! i'll be updating my kit before the end of june with a 5d and 70-200mm f/2.8 is usm and the combined cashback on those is quite substantial...i'd hate to miss out on getting it :(!!
 
I'd get in touch with them by email to see where it is in case its not been sent yet, plus they can let you know where it was sent and if necessary give you a bank reference so that your bank can track it.
 
I need to check mine as not heard anything or seen any money either :(
 
hmmm well after emailing them again via their specific cashback website, i got a fast reply saying they'd issue a cheque after confirmation that the transfer wasn't received into my account :D, fingers crossed it shan't be long now!
 
Iv used them a lot and have even picked up from him as i was on my way to Hereford.. Very nice chaps..

The invoice you get from them is good for cashback too.. never had a problem..

Well just to say that I used 123Fstop and found there service excellent. 2 days delivery on the flash, emailed them and got a receipt straight away for the cash back and Canon sent me a cheque for £40 after 12 days so well happy with a brand new 580EX II for £200 :D
