Hi, Buying Canon 60D for my son - Anyone used Kerso to purchase from - I see he is popular here

I have used Kerso before and brought a L series lens I hand no problem with the sale and it was delivered quick. I think if you google Kerso you will get many happy customer reviews.

Very good, and reliable.

You can get free shipping this month as well if you use the code 'freeshipaug' when you checkout.

Good reports about Kerso. Take a look at Panamoz and HDEW cameras too, you might be able to save another £100+ with one of those.

Panamoz have been the cheapest by far for a lot of stuff I've looked at recently. You are buying from Hong Kong with them and to get the best price you need to pay via BT but they are getting a good write-up for service.

No idea why people recommend Kerso, his prices aren't the best these days, lots of other cheaper places.

You get a UK receipt for starts , so if you ever need to claim you don't need to send back to HK .

Think id take my chances, his are imports anyway aren't they?

£2549 for a 5dmk3 body on flash camera, other places are doing the lens kit cheaper. Postage to hk would be £50 or less. The free shipping code rubs salt into the wound if you ask me.

From my experience with import bodies is canon uk fixes them if you have any receipt, they have done for me in the past.

As I understand the warranties from DigitalRev and Panamoz, they are UK warranties, and the repairs are done in the UK.

People recommend me as they have bought from me before and can trust me. Cheapest isn't always best!! Yes maybe I am more expensive for a 5D III I can't be cheaper on all Canon items. Check camerapricebuster Balb0wa you are no expert on pricing!

I'm sure you're right about Panamoz warranty work being sorted in the UK. I thought you had to send them back to HK, but after a couple of emails with Panamoz customer services about buying a Canon 70-200 MkII I realised that you send them to a UK address and they sort the warranty for you. Which is even better service than I thought and one of the reasons I keep buying from them. After another failure of a cheapish ringflash (second one just fried itself) I've ordered a new Sigma ring flash from Panamoz this morning.

Have a look at the Panamoz thread further down the main page for a link. I got my 60D from them and it was delivered in 4 days and was an excellent price.

Are you working for one of these sellers or something. How is rubbing salt in to a wound by offering free shipping? Keep your negative comments to yourself please!

All purchases from flashcamera.co.uk this month get free shipping with the code "freeshipaug". Also with any purchase you can add Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 for only £80.

Wow are you not allowed to comment on threads now?

kerso has a very good rep

just bought a 7D from hdew cameras Ebay affiliate
same warranty, good service so far, 3 year warranty and much cheaper
they take credit cards and I even got £10 back through quidco
£848 for an import 7D, 3 year warranty (so they say) and 10 quid back...
not too unhappy with that

Yes I am not as good on body prices as others but you will find that all these other sellers are selling Hong Kong imports mine all come with Canon USA and warranty is valid in UK with UK invoice provided. I appreciate all the members on this thread who have been recommended me. I understand there are negatives too everyone is welcome to their say. As for the member who says offering free shipping to all TP members is "rubbing salt in a wound" well thats bizarre! Thats my take on it I won't be getting into a debate. Regards Ian.

cheapo prices from China are great but there are risks.
warranty, returns and import taxes. all become a bit of a lottery
obviously not an issue with the gent above

Hi

Yes I've used Ian (Kerso) previously and been very pleased with the service received and would happily recommend him.

HDEW is also worth a look at, Panomaz seems to have a good following, I've not used them so can't comment personnaly

On a side note, a friend of mine upgraded from a 450D to a 60D last year and really likes it, he was after a higher FPS, but the larger body was better for him and to his surprise, the tilt screen has been much used...

Bought several items from Kerso. Nothing but good service from him and can highly recommend him.

true, and one stop (which I've bought from in the past) promise to pay import taxes if you re-bill them

Has anyone on here been caught by this? If so, did One Stop (or any other company) live up to the promise and refund the charges.

There was a post on here some time ago, someone had got the tax invoice from the courier and had payment from DigitalRev in 3 days.

Point to remember though, their guarantee only applies to sales on their website, and not through eBay.

As a satisfied user of Kerso, I am of the opinion that the cheapest doest always equate to the best especialy if you add in the after sales service.

There's an interesting thread here, in particular read post 6.

But then to be fair, post #39 covers most of the confusion (and at least on of the posters bought via eBay and not through their shop site).

I found it pretty clear from their website that they don't offer the duty/tax guarantee or local warranty if it isn't bought through their website shop.

First time I bought from HK second time from Kerso. HK company has now dissapered so I might as well wipe my arse with the warranty. Kerso is still here and even if he wasn't his warranty would still be good.
I know it's not Canon but Sigma lenses carry 3 years uk warranty, from panamoz one year, stay with a safe bet is my advice.

because he's totaly reliable, delivers quickly , is honest about what he has in stock (or doesnt), and provides a uk sales receipt - price isnt everything.

Admittedly you can also say that about digital rev, and panamoz (except the uk receipt) , but many of the other cheaper places are unreliable, claim to have stuff in stock when they don't, and are generally crap to deal with

panamoz do indeed do the warranty work in the uk - but the warranty is with them not canon - so if they go pop you are stuffed, kerso on the other hand provides a uk receipt so you can access the canon waranty (and incidentally canon uk will not honour a waranty on stuff with an overseas receipt - the kit has to go to the canon subsidary in the country of origin and it is often months before you see your kit again)
