hey people i have a canon 600d and am looking for another battery for it. Can someone point me in the right direction i had a look on facebook and saw hundreds of different types of batteries
 
I have the maximfoto one which I got from amazon and it works well. Seems to last just as long as the canon original.

By the same token, catching up with your school friends by checking Amazon, WEX or 7dayshop could be difficult.;)

Apologies for the sarcasm, a Canon LP-E8 is what you need, genuine Canon ones will be expensive but a compatible battery should be OK from one of the shops above.

I got one off amazon for like 5$ and lasts just as long as the stock battery. Have you looked into getting a grip? Twice the battery usage :)
 
I got a cheap grip off ebay for my 550D and it came with some no name batteries that have been just as good as the Canon original. Maybe I was just lucky, but the grip only cost about £36 and came with 4 batteries, and I've been using it for over a year with no problems whatsoever.

nothing wrong with keeping the 2nd battery in the pocket. Grips often get stuck and have to be destroyed to get the off. Just so you have a different opinion.
 
I bought a second battery for my 600D from 7DayShop and it's been fine.
 
I use the 7 day shop own ones and they're fine. They last just as long as the originals in my experience.
The one of got for my FZ7 is still going strong after 6 years along with the original Panasonic branded one. Great value for money at less than £10 a piece.
 
About these 7D batteries, I've been looking as well, I'm seeing ones thou which say for 7D but are DC7.4 but the back of my real one says DC7.2 ? does that matter? I've no idea about electronics but just don't want to get something that might cause a electrical issue on my camera
 
I've just ordered 2 batterys off ebay for my 500d

they are 1600mah power and cost about £7.50 delivered...for the two
 
I use cheap-as-chips Chinese e-bay batteries in my 550d, they seem to last just as long as the branded ones. I expect their life-span will be a lot less than a Canon battery but for £7 I'll just buy a new one. I have been using them for over a year now with no complaints. For a few quid more you could get a 'brand name' battery like Energizer or Ansmann.

Have a look at the grip+battery deals on e-bay, dirt cheap, and it makes your camera look even posher ;-)
 
Batteries in a grip are a good idea but try carrying around that camera on your shoulder for a day :(

I like grips but I'd rather have a couple of extra batteries in my bag.

When you have a 1.6 kilo lens on a few hundred grammes of grip doesn't make that much difference :-)
 
Got a 7dayshop one for my 7D, it's fine. I never know if I have that or the official Canon one in as they seem to last a similar length of time. Either that or I'm just not observant with it :p
