Thanks for that Gordon. Looks like the 600x would have been worth the extra!
Ha ha, I bought the last one in stock from Stuart this morning, will be with me tomorrow.

Eduardo - you impetuous little tinker you!![]()
Been having some seriously bad thoughts this afternoon though! Starting to think I am going nuts.
LOL. You'll love it mate and with the 5D2 as well, you'll have all the bases covered.![]()
The following two pictures are 800x600 crops from a 6400 ISO image, and an 12800 ISO image.
The following gallery was all shot with my 7D. Very impressed with the AF on the thing so far.

Cheers,
Simno,.
and apart from the shutter sound (which is horrible) it seems really good.
I think I will have to invest in some faster CF cards as the buffer fills up really quickly at high speeds.
Very nice - what glass were you using? Great colours!
I don't get this shutter noise thing. I genuinely think mine is the quietest shuttered camera I've owned and it sounds more like my old 1DII but quieter! It has to move the mirror quickly so it will have a different sound to many of its predecesors. The 5D sounds like a wet fish flapping around...
This camera sounds like it is a very heavy/sturdy mirror hitting the stops.

His tax disk is out of date
The images with the teleconverter dont look as sharp, is that a focusing error or just due to the teleconverter?
So anyone who can tell yet how the 7D copes with reds and flash?
Both 'as shot'

Had to use the pop up flash for this - I've lent the 580EX out for a wedding today. Doesn't look too bad although I suspect you're looking for examples where flash is a bigger percentage of the illumination - indoors probably?
tempting but I will take a chance

Did you take a chance and did you have to pay import or VAT?
Well that is a problem I know, but hopefully, the new colour based metering system in the 7D should be a lot better. Thanks for that CT
Would like your perspective on whether it faithfully reproduces reds/pinks/purples when flash is used.
I battled for some time to get it near acceptable on my 1Ds and 5D...Nikons seem to cope much better with reds and flash although I would really hope that Canon is getting this on the penny with the new technology in the 7D...
