Canon Announcement

3 - D camera so my sources tell me........I have connections.

Whatever it is I'm sure there'll be at least ten threads complaining about some aspect of it :P

Agree with Byker & Tiler, it'll be a XF series 3D native camera (XF350? XF400?), rather than the hack of umbilical-ing two 300/305's for 3D.

They're announcing that I will be one of their new sponsored pros and get all my gear for free. Either that or some stupid 3D video camera, pah!

what ever it is I can't afford it so don't really care lol

more than likely some sort of video announcment given the location lol

Hi

I (by chance) was in Jessops in the Trafford Centre a few weeks ago and was looking at 5D + 7D - neither were in stock and got chatting to a great bloke from Jessops - or so I thought -> it was only after we had been talking for about 10 mins he told me he was from Canon, not Jessops and they came down to assisst / help out on occasions. He told me Canon are putting there weight behind Jessops now, hence why they are there.

He was very helpfull, but couldn't / wouldn't be drawn in to what was coming out / when etc. He did hint at new body and upgrades in the next 6 months, but what he did say (but wouldn't tell me exactly) - as with Tom above - was Canon are doing something new - not just new to them, but new to the market !!!

Can't wait to see what ...

3D video is a good shout. The 3D film Market is quite mature now, add that to the amount of DSLRs being used for film making or as part of the film making process and there would be a Market there. Let's face it we now have 3D capable games machines, phones, compact cameras. Not sure it would be a dslr, maybe a video camera that would take stills, similar to the panasonic 'wallee' style?

Yey...it is a camera that NOBODY complains about!

I'm going to guess it is a 1DS4 with the following (rough) spec:
- 4k film capability (simply due to Hollywood)
- 50MP+
- dual / quad Digic 5
- 8FPS+

I also think they will re-align the rest of the line up and will drop the 1d series and bring out a low resolution FF camera (a 5d-light) and the overdue 5d2 replacement. Of course this is all speculation and none of it based on any fact

Someone has used the Direct Print Button.

I'll take a punt that grey lenses have their day and now they're moving to pink. Either that or they've realised that they can make a proper rear command dial.....

Whatever it is, it's probably buried somewhere in this list.

Only 2 more days till we find out

Not sure it will be 2 days, the big announcements will be saved for Hollowood in November. I would love a budget full frame to come out next year, if it doesn't I will be searching the classifieds for a good 5d classic.

I've just realised what it is. Canon have realised that all of their lenses are soft so they're recalling them all and issuing all current owners with Nikkor equivalents ;)

U a nikon fanboy lol
