So if its the same size sensor as the G9, will the digic4 (G9 has 3) mean it can handle the higher 15mp?? Or should i just go and get a G9 while i can?

Looks like a nice wee piece of kit.

Wonder how much it will cost??

Think i might get one as a replacement for my trusty G7.

Fixation quoted me £355 + VAT this morning for the G10.

With the capability to produce A2 prints - that'll do for me. I prefer the 28 - 140 lens rather than the 35 - 210 of the G9. So I have made the decision that I have been hanging on for - USA have already got pictures out of one and they were impressed (those I have spoken to).

There is the waterproof diving housing too - which will be needed for my use.

Worth waiting for? I shall have to wait and see, but it isn't that much more expensive than the G9, so I am happy.

If you aren't using it for professional use, then the 9 is probably just as good.....

Warehouse Express are listing the G10 for £500.

It looks like a very capable camera and the layout of the buttons seems pretty nice too.

I think a big point of interest is the fact the RAW files can be processed with DPP, and the G10 comes bundled with it.

Despite the extra pixels packed on the same size sensor, there is new lens in front of the sensor and the new processing has addressed the noise issue over the G9 - according ot my sources, and they are good enough for me.

I was in two mindas about which to go for myself, and have decided to go with the newer technology and better lens.

Does it really need nearly 15mp in such a small sensor????

Nope, what it needs is 12mp on an APS-C Sensor, now that I would go out and buy :D

I agree, I amnot keen on the mega pixel craxe either....the D3 has proved the way to go. BUT, I can't wait for the next incarnation with bigger sensor and fewer pixels. I need something I can use NOW (well, in a month or so).

When there is this new Leica M6 replacement with a digital sensor (as in camera for the type of work covered by the little rangefinder) I will go and buy one of those....until then, this will just have to do.

I had a look at the Nikon P6000. Very nice, very neat, solid build - but just not quite there. Lens coverage a bit mediocre too. The G10 at 28-140 is perfect for the job - versatile enough without being silly. If it produces A2 prints at full resolution that is good enough for most uses.
