Long story short but going away to London this weekend and I have managed to get an SD card stuck in my 80D and the camera won’t work now (probably my intervention is to blame)

Am I best to send it back to Canon ( I assume they have a repair centre) or to try local (not really seen a camera shop for a long time) ?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thank you

try Fixation, they are an authorised repair centre, or they used to be. Other one is aj Johnstones in Scotland.

I have used Canon official repair centre a few times over the years and they have always been excellent
One of my lenses is there at the moment they quoted £163 to repair the focus motor and clean and service the lens , I thought that was very reasonable was expecting it to be more considering the the lens wouldn’t auto or manually focus
Not complaining as I mentioned before its had a lot of use over the years

If it's just the card pushed in backwards then try a phone repair shop. They have tools for that kind of problem

Many thanks for the replies and think I may have jumped the gun a little as I sent it to Canon for repair

Cost is going to be pretty much what a replacement used one would be but at least I know the history of this and we have decided to put the repair through our business as we use the camera regularly for product photography. Still think the bill is a big steep and kicking myself a little for dabbling with it myself but that’s life :-)

One thing I did notice when researching a replacement was the used price of 5D Mk IV’s are much lower than when I last looked and we do need a backup really
