Hello everyone,

I have been reading plenty of threads on here recently and enjoy what is on the site.

Think i m going to take the plunge and upgrade to the 7D but was just wondering where you guys pick your gear up from?

I'm after body only so am sure there are cheaper places than the mighty Jessops? Ebay seems to be full of imports and secondhand ones with people wanting silly money.

Will interested to hear from you guys with some info if possible.

Thanks

Got mine yesterday from Park Cameras. Brilliant service, next day delivery. Same as when I bought a 24 - 105 lens a a few weeks ago. Can't fault them.:thumbs:

Park Cameras arent to far away from me actually.

Got my first digital camera from them a few years ago. looks like they have expanded a bit since then.

I'll have a look and see what deal they are doing.

How are you finding it ?

I've no idea:shrug:. I just posted another thread half an hour ago about getting RAW images uploaded onto Elements. I can't figure out how to get the bloody Plug In to work so I've not seen any results yet.

I stuck on a battery pack and my 100 - 400 L for a walkabout tonight. It's a lovely camera but I haven't got it properly set up yet.

It does look like it takes some getting used to from what i have read on it so far.

Hope you get some advice back soon then so you can see your results.

I've currently got a 500d but want the 7d as it looks ideal for motorsport and football etc.

Camera Price Buster - 7D

That shows the best prices on UK models from trusted retailers.
That said, if you don't mind buying US imports then definately contact Kerso. His prices are often brilliant and you usually get very very new stock rather than something that's been sitting on a shelf in a shop for a year.

I bought both my 24-70 and 70-200 from him. The 24-70 was bought early February this year and the date code on it showed it was made in January this year. Pretty good if you ask me.

Hi Tom,

Is there any difference in the US models then? daft question but must ask

Blimey that is good on the code front, fresh as you like then!

As far as I know there is absolutely zero difference between the UK and US model. Except the US version would probably need a cheapy adapter for the battery charger (I don't know if Ian provides this).

I've seen brand new 7D shipped from inside the UK on ebay for £1050 delivered, a right bargain IMO!

Dead link.
I've just had a look on Ebay and I know for a fact that one of the dealers is selling grey imports.
I am all for saving money but if you buy a grey import and need to make a warranty claim, the camera will have to go back to the dealer and he will have to send it back to the country it was sourced from and no doubt this will be somewhere like Hong Kong.
You pay your money at take a chance.

Kerso supplies a UK invoice and Canon UK will honour the warranty.
I bought a Canon 50D and a 24-105L IS F4 from Ian so that's another vote from me

This is the link I was referring to on ebay, the price is £1,034

That's the place I was thinking about.
There is another thread about them but I can't remember what section it is in.

Mind you there are bargains to be had on ebay i picked up a hardly used L Lens and converter the other week for not a bad price!

I got mine from this retailer, excellent service, I've used them before and so was comfortable purchasing from them.

Like Kerso, they are grey imports, and have a Non UK battery charger, with an adapter, plus they provide a 1 Years (retailer) warranty.
