canon 7d autofocus question

hi guys, was reading something about the 7d being able to tell when you have tilted the camera and switch focus zone accordingly, has anyone used this and how effective is it?

Works well. When in portrait, it can use a different AF point to in landscape. I find it a useful feature.

It does work well.
The feature is 100% effective on my camera (it either works or it doesn't).
I find it a tad confusing at times, if I have changed a focus point for following an item, then change to portrait, the type of focus changes. I suppose I am just used to it not happening.

Can also set a default focus point. Then when one presses the 8-way selector, straight in, the focus point jump to the default focus point.

so its possible to just say be using the top zone in landscape and turn it on its side and it will jump to the far right zone then and then in reverse, and it will keep doing it all day long, is that right, sorry just want to make sure i understand if it can do this.

Yes that's right. The settings is retained until you alter it - even with the battery removed.
