Canon 70D not switching on

My daughter’s 70D has stopped working. She checked battery and we found some YouTube videos with possible fixes - including adjusting a microswitch under the battery cover. However nothing is helping. As I recall she had mentioned video was not working properly some while back too. Two questions - any other ideas to get it started? Any idea of cost to send away for a fix to see if it’s worth it?

Is the micro switch possibly stuck ?,try gently operating it with a pen nib or similar small ended item.
Are you using a genuine Canon battery ?,Some non genuine ones have shown this issue.
Is the camera recognised when connected to a PC ?,do you have magic lantern installed another one that has shown this problem on the 70D.

The micro switch is now broken...moved back and forth quite gently and it came apart battery is genuine and no magic lantern.

Check Canon repair website, they may offer a fixed price repair.
