Yes
was out with my daughter yeterday she wanted a few pics of the dog swimming well took 3 shots then the banking i was on collapsed i ended up on a rock ledge in 3ft of water my camera and lens in my hand unfortunatley went underwater for a split second
the camera is dead no power at all and the lens has water inside.and to top it off my wife cancelled the house insurance 4 months ago as we where meant to be moving.

to say im gutted is an under statement

Oh b****r, double blow due to the insurance, can only try to imagine how gutted you are. :(

Sorry to hear that. I'm paranoid about mine so have separate camera insurance which is about £3pm. Not a lot of help now, I know however, the lens might be done for but I would try drying the camera out in the airing cupboard or a ton of rice. I thought the 70d had weather seals so if you take out all cards, batteries, remove lenses etc and carefully dry it, you might, be able to get the camera working...

Also try using a different battery if you have one once you have dried it out for 48 hours.

Ouch.. sorry to hear this

Ouch I'm gutted for you!

I would try putting it in a box of rice. I managed
to chuck a Galaxy S5 through a full cycle in our
washing machine! Tried leaving it in rice and had
given up hope and bought another phone after 2 days but forgot to take the old one out of the rice.

Found it in the cupboard 2 weeks later decided
to try it and it worked! It's still working 2 years
later.

Got to be worth a try!

well i got the lens cleared up but not tested it yet as i dont have a camera its left a few watermarks inside the lens camera is in a tub with four large silica gel packs ill get some rice in the morning and see if that does anything there was no water in the battery compartment or memory card slott or the other doors fingers crossed it might come back to life.

Hopefully all will be good after some rice treatment, I shall cross my extremities! If it was a quick dip and the water wasn't too nasty, you might just get away with it. If it makes you feel any better, I cancelled my insurance two weeks ago, was taking my time searching for better cover, then clonked my Sigma 100-300 EX F4 rather hard on a fence post and it's now an unrepairable (according to Sigma) novelty doorstop.

Sadly all the sealing in the world is no good if the thing stuck in the gaping hole on the front of the camera isn't also sealed. :(

This guy cleans Canon cameras:
He'll thoroughly clean the sensor at the same time.

Good spray with contact cleaning solution might help too
