I have just revived my 6D and would like to ask a question regarding the GPS function and software for it to work
When I switch on the GPS function the little gps on the top screen flashes
How long until it makes a connection ?
Also what software do I need to get the image location that the image / images were taken ?

Looks like I am not the only one. :LOL:
 
I have a 6D, just never found a need for GPS, in fact when I bought it there was a software bug that meant the GPS was permanently on and drained the battery!
 
The manual should tell you everything you need to know including a link to the Map Utility.
 
Any software that reads the GPS data from the EXIF data. That includes but isn't limited to MS Photos, Amazon Photos, DarkTable. Those are the few that spring instantly to mind here
