Hi. I am looking for a lens which will be good for shooting in darker conditions for e.g in church. I dont have a huge budget so i am looking at spending around £150. Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you

I think the only faster lens in your price range would be the Canon 50mm f/1.8

As above, a Canon 50mm f/1.8 or a used Canon 35mm f/2?

Have only just seen your question! I hope the following might help? I have a Mk1 Canon 50mm 1.8. It has a metal mount, & better build than the Mk11. The 35mm f2.0 is a good optic, you may get a used version within your budget? Depending on just how much you wish to include on interiors the wider the better. Your Canon has a 1.6 crop factor, so 50=80; and 35=56mm. My 50mm is very sharp & resolves good shadow detail.

Unfortunately with your budget there's not much else other than a 50 f1.8 or the 35 f2. Out of the 2 I'd go for the 35 f2 anyday. Much better build quality, faster and quieter AF and, in my case at least, a much better IQ. You might have to stretch your budget a little to get it though, but it's worth spending the extra.
