I cannot see a thread on this within the most recent few pages ... can anyone point me to one ?
I'm interested in any issues folk might have had with the 60D, as I'm thinking of upgrading from my 550D - or wondering whether to really splash out for a 7D (or its replacement).

I had one and it was a great camera!

60D is the same sensor as the 7D, so there is no image IQ difference.
Whether the other features the 7D has are worth the extra cost is something only you can answer; depends on what you want to shoot.

I got my 60D as 2nd body for shooting concerts and festivals.
Absolutely no issue with it; it's great.

I upgraded from a 500d to a 60d, best thing I've done in photography!
Love the feel of it and the controls are a lot more intuitive. Go for it!

It's hard to fault the 60D, but... Previous versions of the firmware had some issues (random over-exposure, incorrect image rotation) but those have been sorted.

How many other 60D owners here suffer with the grip rubber peeling back at the edges?

I've got one and no problems with it, Great camera. But like above same image quality as 7D so it depends on the extra features a 7D has, For me if i was looking there i would maybe wait till a replacement for it but i suppose it wont be cheap as with any new camera.

I've seen the rubber peeling back on the demo version at Currys in Heathrow airport, which I imagine gets a lot of use.

The 60D is a great camera (I had one for a while - downgraded from the 7D and was pretty happy).

It all depends on what you want though, the movable screen is great fro macro\low shots - FPS is decent for most work - you can get a brilliant firmware hack that will open all sorts of doors.

If you give some specifics I may be able to help more.

I'm considering a 60d as an upgrade myself and was just wondering what people's views are as far as a replacement model in the future and how soon?

Having now handled both a 60D and a 7D, I've decided that I really don't like the extra bulk of the 7D. I don't think I will need the extra burst speed of the 7D, and I think I'll find the tiltable screen useful, particularly on a tripod. So now all I need do is justify the expenditure.:thinking:

I replaced my 450d with 60d and was a bit worried about weather it was to big a step or it may be to bulky, but I love it it feels proper and the controls are more clearer!!
I just need to learn how to do it justice now!!
