Is it just me or does it look like someone in R&D has been playing pin the tail on the donkey with the button layout.
60D isn't the upgrade from the 50D you expected? Get a 7D. It's pretty obvious!
Have they got it wrong and missed out a 0
What I expected the 600D to be, not sure they have got it right with the plastic body either

what a pile of $hite
ive got a 50d and was in two minds like alot of people about the 'next step on the upgrade ladder' but im definately upgrading to a 7d now!!
AF Micro-adjustment isn't an option anymore unless the spec page is wrong. Unusual move to discontinue a feature from the previous version.

Yeah, my phone does that.Surprised, nobody has mentioned the 'toy camera effect'

Personally I will wait to the 7D MKii.....![]()

Is the current 7D not good enough for you then?
.
So many people nowadays are just happy to buy crap, on the premise that it can be replaced with more crap when it breaks.
Perhaps I'm missing something or reading a different spec for the camera  but where does the 'plastic body' bit come from? .. as I read aluminium![]()
- Higher resolution sensor (17.9MP vs. 15.1MP)
- Accepts SD, rather than CF memory cards
- No flash sync socket!! Why remove this!!
- Wireless Speedlight control
- Articulated 3:2 high resolution LCD screen
- Plastic body shell (8% weight saving)
- Standard ISO range extends to 6400, rather than 3200
- User-definable Auto ISO upper limit
- HD video recording 1080p20/25/24 or 720p60/50 plus cropped 640 x 480 movie mode
- New features: in-camera raw conversion, ambience settings, creative filters, more JPEG options
- No joystick, no multi-flash support, simplified top plate & info panel, only one Custom mode, no AF micro-adjust, no high speed shutter sync flash option
- Slightly reduced customization options
- Redesigned control layout with slightly fewer buttons
- Lower burst rate
Oh the slightly compromised burst rate ? Personally if the burst rate speed is that important to you, you should be looking at 7D or 1D.
And people moaning about it only using SD cards ? Please, compact flash is soo outdated, and SD cards are dirt cheap these days.

i also noticed that the 60D has built in wireless speedlite control, which is a nice feature, just a shame there is so much in the 60D that doesnt appeal to me

Aaah! ... I looked at Canon's info ...

If it was as easy just 'choosing' the camera that you wanted a lot of us may have different cameras. Most people have to balance the features they want with how much they are willing to pay. If you were hoping to upgrade for a higher bust rate, then you would be disappointed that the 60D is slower than the 50D and even the 40D.

DPReview talks about plastic and loss of the magnesium alloy chassis, but also says "Polycarbonate resin with glass fibre on aluminum chassis" in the spec check.

What?? It doesn't have HSS? Are they crazy?![]()
Sorry Richard! not really sure what you mean here![]()
Are you serious?![]()
Are you serious?
Sorry, I meant it is neither metal in the solid mag chassis sense, nor 100% plastic, but appears to be a plastic/alluminium/stuff composite.
I don't know why folks have a problem with that, other than old fashioned prejudice. There doesn't appear to be a performance penalty that I'm aware of, and the composite chassis is certainly cheaper and lighter.
