Hi guys. I'm in a position where I have around £400 (poss a little more) to splash on some glass for my Canon 600D and am not sure what to go for. I like all types of photography (portrait, architecture, landscapes, macro) and would love one good quality walk about lens with an edge towards good architecture pics (if i had to choose)..Don't need more than 135mm, like the idea of a 17 - 85 or 135 to cover all possibilities. Currently have the kit lens on the Canon. Want IS if possible, but overall want the best image quality I can get. Any advice guys?

EF-S 15-85 would seem to fit yout requirements. Possibly a little towards the top end of your budget, but well worth it.

If you're into landscapes and architecture then I can wholly recommend a second-hand Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5. It's really wide angle and is razor sharp. The 22mm end means it can be used as a bit of a 'walkabout' lens also.
