canon 600d "auto bracketing" question

My friend has a 5d and when he shoots bracketed shots he just shoots one time and the slr fires off 3 exposure back to back real fast. When I set my 600d to auto bracketing I shot one shot and have to wait for it to process then shot another and repeat. My question is this how it works on the 600d or do I have it set wrong somewhere.
 
You have to set the drive mode to multiple shots, sounds as if you're just on single frame mode, either that or you have mirror lock up enabled.
 
You would need to set continuous shooting and hold down the shutter until it has taken the number of shots.
Alternatively had a look at the magic lantern addon firmware as it will expand the bracketing to 9 shots and automatically have a 2 second pause after pressing the shutter button and then automatically take all the pictures. It adds a lot of extra features aswell.
 
When I use exposure bracketing I have it on continuos and hold the shutter down till the shots have been taken.
 
I use multiple/burst too - and I forget - so I take a single frame middle-exposed, move on to my next shot and take an under-exposed shot, move on to my next shot, linger on the shutter and fire off god knows how many frames and at what exposure :bang:

How did u come to that conclusion?! I have a 550D which apart from the swivel screen it's the same camera. It might just be a case of user error .
 
If you use the 2-second or 10-second timer mode, it will take the 3 shots itself.

It also takes all 3 shots when using the IR remote if you have exposure bracketing on.
 
Yes it will take all 3 shots. The 5d took all 3 shots all at once. In other words when you press the shutter it fires off 3 shots very fast like if it was taking one shot. There is no pause between shots and you hear the shutter open and close very fast. When I first heard this I ask the photographer if he was using rapped fire and he told me no he was bracketing. That's what led to this question on whether or not I had my camera set correctly for bracketing or is this just how the two cameras shoot differently. My 600d will take the bracket shots but it just takes more time.
