Hi everyone :)

Been saving up for ages now for some studio lights and now have a budget of of around £600

I have a canon 600D and a Hahnel Combi TF (which works great with the Canon 430EX II) Would this Flash Trigger work with these studio lights ? I am thinking of getting the Bowens Gemini 400 kit and I don't want to pay another few hundred on the pulsar triggers....

I don't know about that combo. But you won't need to pay out for pulsar triggers if you Hahnel doesn;t work you could just buy cheap radio triggers from ebay which will

If the flash head has a standard socket on the back (and I can't imagine that Bowens wouldn't) than any trigger should work.

I use the Lencarta Wavesync, as it's mains powered and I don't have to bother with batteries (for the receiver at least).

If you used a wavesync with a bowens you'd need an adaptor for the sync port. (its a different size). You'd lose the ability to use the bowens travel pack if you ever wanted to as well

I wouldn't buy the Pulsar trigger system, it's overpriced, the old version didn't work very well and there's none of the control of the lights as you would expect from similar lights, eg the Elinchroms.

Go instead for something cheap as chips if you're only ever going to use it indoors with mains power.. Godox do an inline power receiver with small battery powered hotshoe trigger for about 12 quid. And they work great, the battery in the transmitter lasts for ages and the receiver is powered by the inline power to the flash head.

This was the last one I bought (or rather I bought three sets) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220909770858

They arrived in about ten days from Singapore and work great
