there's much talk about these generally but only two threads in the archives i could find so i wanted to ask again.

i had two of the bp511 clones in the past which had been perfect and had no real discernable difference between these and the original ones. i appreciate the technology of the newer batteries has stepped up but has anybody used the ones for the 5D2/7D (le-p6) and, if so, have there been any noticable disadvantages besides not being able to register the battery and any do the ones listed at 2100mah last any longer/work any better than the ones at 1800mah?

thanks

Might be better to ask in the Equipment section.

I can't help because I only have a couple of the genuine Canon batteries, have a feeling that I read the 7dayshop ones work ok.

I had two lp-e6 equivalents die on me - they worked perfectly until they died, but I think they died because they fully discharged beyond, if that makes sense. I have read recently that cheaper batteries can overcharge; overdischarge..

got 2 from the 7 day shop and had no problems yet

Got a power planet one from Amazon and it works the same as the original. Would guess it lasts 15% less time though

further reading suggests a plethora of batteries made by different manufacturers and each obviously affected by the condition the batteries are in at the time of dispatch. however good to hear that they at least integrate reasonably well and a 15% drop in performance is not too bitter a pill to swallow when there's almost a 200% reduction in price to be had. i guess it's a sias

thanks for all your input
