Canon 5D MKIII official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D MKIII

Yh most (if not all) of the reviews suggest that to be the case. However, I understand that some Sigma 85's can sometimes have inconsistent focus at longer distances, whereas the L seems to lock focus more accurately, albeit slowly.

I haven't used either lens but that is what I gather. When I get my 5D3 I may well take a chance with the Siggy! :)

This is a much more interesting thread than the one on POTN. That's mainly just people posting pictures without any real conversation.

That's why I wrote "Talk". Plus I didn't reference POTN.

well ordered my second body from Panamoz now. £1895. Absolute bargain, my first one cost me £2600, but then it was in the first month of it coming out.

Can't wait to be rocking 2 mark 3's instead of one of each, when you have the mark 3 on one side it makes using the mark 2 so damn hard lol

now to put my mark 2 on the classifieds

well, it depends how and why you use it. When I shot a wedding with both it really didn't make much difference.

But I do a lot of toddler and children phtography and the focussing and features of the mark 3 are just perfect for those conditions and so thats why i always struggled.

Also, I use both at the same time loaded with primes at all times on a dual strap, if your second body is as a backup or to be used sparingy then it probably will make little difference

Yh you're probably right on that. I can't complain about the IQ on the 5Dc on lower ISO's and stationary subjects! :)

Feel the same with my 7D, can see myself getting a second mk3 before the year's out

A 6d? I never even knew there was a 6d

Do keep up lol. Yeah the 6d is basically a 5d2 with tweaks. Canon are slow at releasing stuff though as it won't be out till end of the year. I think the 5d3 was the only camera that got released within weeks of first announcement. The 1dx took nearly a year to be released. Nuts I know *** the D600 is out soon or now actually.

Anyways I love the 5d3 its unbelievable and glad I paid big money for it.

The high iso makes night time shooting without a tripod doable now and then build quality is top notch.

In love with it tbh

Love all of these, very sharp. The horses eye sure is spooky. How close where you for the horse shot?, and which lens did you use ?

Thanks Chris, I think I'm about to get Telephoto Prime envy :)

How long would it take to save for the 1Dx?

I really need to save some pennies up for one of these.

The horse shot is absolutely superb :)

Well I got to go out today and have play for the first time with mine.
So far I am over the moon with it, I can see me playing with the new AF system a fair bit over the coming week or so.

Here are a few from today.

As long as the welsh weather holds out I intend to spend a fair amount of time out with it over the coming week.

Panamoz? It's where I got mine last week. Excellent price and excellent service.

Very nice those Jonneymendoza.

Has anyone else experienced any battery issues? Over the weekend my battery indicator seems to be playing up. I have 3 batteries one Canon and two from 7 dayshop. All have worked fine in the past but now I put a fully charged battery in the camera and with only a few shots taken the battery indicator will start to flash it's almost flat. But within a few minutes (whilst still in use) it comes back saying full again. It did this several times throughout the day and seems to happen on all 3 batteries. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the battery though... yesterday I shot over 1300 frames at a race day at Castle Combe all on the single battery.
Would be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed anything peculiar like this?
