Canon 5D MKIII official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D MKIII

It's Ken Rockwell, don't put much thought into it :-P

Yeah sometimes I use auto ISO with custom range from 100 to 6400 in situations I know where I want a set shutter with a fixed aperture but the lighting will change (TV studio) - Works brilliantly.

Ok, I am now looking at upgrading my second body to the mark 3 and the deal from panamoz is too good to turn down. Here's the thing though, reading through this thread I'm hearing 2 different things

1. that if you pay by bank transfer you get the camera for £1995

2. that paying by bank transfer gets you a 5% discount

since the body is listed for £2030 right now, a 5% discount on that brings it in at £1928 plus delivery of cause.

So which is it?

Prices have been coming down obviously, so contact them for an updated price. I'd imagine it's the £1928 price or lower now.

Anyone ordered their MKIII from DigitalRev?

Yep not long after it was launched, fantastic service - was from HK to my door in under 2 days . Wouldn't think twice about using them again, great price and service

a work colleague has offered to buy my 600D (and a couple of lenses, accessories et.) ... for a price i cant refuse! ... very near to the price i've paid for everything over the last 12+ months....
i am trying to fight the urge to buy a 5DIII, i would love to take my hobby to the next level ...although i have done a few courses in the past that i have found extremely helpful and i've learned so much from each one, i feel a bit guilty about purchasing such an awsome piece of kit! ... am i being foolish making such a big step up?
...please feel free to give me advice .. push me in either direction,,,
my prefered interest is in the street, urbex, and landscape photography and i've seen jaw dropping shots taken with the 5DIII

Help

should i or should'nt i

I agree. I ordered at 4:15 on a Thursday (when bank transfer completed) and it was at my house by Monday 1pm ish. You don't get service that fast ordering in the UK!

Also if you have any queries AT ALL, PM Tina on here. She answered my queries and sorted a problem I had (wrong additional battery was sent). All sorted and I'll be using them any time I want anything from now on. Shame they don't stock the new Canon flash as I'm after one of those for my mates bands next gig.

Oops, I was referring to Panamoz. I can say the same for Digital rev though as I bought my battery grip from them and the stuff arrived within the same hour. Virtually the same shipping route on the day of my order.

Hi everyone,

Im not sure if its already been posted (not looked over the full 49 pages yet) :D
There is a guidebook that has been released by canon for the 1DX AF Settings.

The Article is HERE and the you can download the guide from the link at the bottom of the page.

I found it whilst trying to scratch up on stuff ready for my 5D3's arrival.

hope it helps.

Mark

Joe, just email panamoz and ask them what the price is if you were to pay by BT. They will then email you with a price. I wouldn't rely on the price on their site, as I asked about a lens, and it came back a way cheaper price than shown on the site.

Yep, was the same for me :)

And my 5D MarkIII + 24-105 lens kit was much cheaper than the website price even allowing for the expected BACS reduction.

:D

On the otherhand, I'm getting a 24-70L in a few days time, looking forward to using that with my 5D3!

Yep. Ordered last monday afternoon, turned up on Thursday.

Ive only just seen this thread so not had a read through it yet. After all the years of me loving my crop cameras in a moment of madness (and serious CC hammering) i decided i wanted a 5DMKIII.

So far im loving it and take back anything i ever said about not wanting to ever go FF.
Im even loving my 50mm f/1.4. Never really liked it on my older cameras but its my fav lens at the moment.

missus wanted me to take a pic of my son sleeping last night, no need to switch the light on, nor the flash, cranked it up to 12,800 ISO, and voila! I love it!

No disrespect to any posters.. But does anyone else feel this has turned into more of a 5D3 shopping thread lately.

'Canon 5D MKIII official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D MKIII'

Potential owners asking questions?

Nothing more than the usual thread drift.
