please can someone tell me the length of the 5d3+24-105+lens hood
From the back of the viewfinder to the hood is just over 21.5cm.
Mark Anthony said:Just done a bit of further testing with the grip and it seems that one side of it is absolutely dead.. So not using any power, and explains why it wouldn't work with just one battery in.
Putting the battery in the good side it fired up with just one in. (should've tried that yesterday).
Going back anyway and I'll be sure to test the replacement a bit more prior to using it on a wedding.
Lol! She told me to get the 70-200 f2.8 IS MK2,instead of a 2nd hand MK1 too![]()

I've shared this image in the portraits section but thought I'd put it in here as well just to show the amazing iso capabilities of the 5d mk3
This was shot at iso 25k and the image is comparable to iso 3200 on a 5D mk2

Superb! Love everything about that shot. Now I'm totally confused....thanks to you and all the other photos on this thread. I'm debating wether to go for a N***N D800 or the 5D M3.........

They had none in stock when I tried to order, bit the bullet and got canon
Got my 5D III with 17-40mm and i gotta say brill camera, some of the buttons are taking a wee bit of getting used to but rest is fairly straight forward.
What does everyone think now that the Canon 6D has been announced? Great to see another FF camera from Canon but is it much of an upgrade from the 5d II?
I'm loving the wellies for a start.
Finally, an image taken with the 5DIII that I'm both proud of and couldn't have been taken on the MkII.
It was a tad dark, this was taken at ISO 12800, 1/30s, f1.4, 50mm

You can't tell from this, but the image quality looks plenty good enough to print to A3 without noise reduction.
Absolutely astonishing!
Fantastic Duncan.......love the lighting and composition.....and yep looks like it will print up easily......hard to believe the ISO is 12800........help me I don't know what to do......

Hi everyone thoroughly enjoying reading this thread. Just received notice that my Canon 5D3 has shipped. This 61 year old lady is super excited. This is a special gift to myself![]()
Good-fella7777, I love your black and white portrait shot.
