Great shot Tim!

That was my favourite lens, until someone pinched it!

Great colours in that, very warm feel to it.

Lol! She told me to get the 70-200 f2.8 IS MK2,instead of a 2nd hand MK1 too :D

I think the least you can do is post up some pics of the said perfect wife for us all to see, taken with your new 5d and lens

First Urbex with the 5D tomorrow, going to get some vast interiors of a power station and collision chambers :D

Ok i admit i needed to look up urbex is that something you have done for a long while or are you just starting out.

Sounds good though i guess it is hard getting near as many buildings have a great many fences.

Has anyone used a different eyecup on the 5Dmk3? I'm after one of the sweat absorbing/chamois types but findng it difficult to find one specifically for the camera! A few for the 7D which should fit but then disclaimers to say they dont fit the 5Dmk3 :(

Fantastic shot. It's very "glossy magazine"- good looking ladies, big smiles, pearly white teeth, sun and sea. Want that lens ASAP

Forget the lens, I'd like the boat, weather and teeth. :D

That's very very nice! The lens is a beast though :p

Thanks, all.

The boat was hired at a cost of 140 Euros for four hours plus a further 66 Euros for fuel used, and we only covered a little over 30 miles. Still want it?

That is very odd as the eye cup is the same size or at least thats the case with the hood eye i bought.

I would probably risk it can not see why it would not fit

Pics when you're back.

Be safe as always :)

Always safe dude :D

Been doing it for a while, see Urbex section on my homepage :) Fences are relatively easy for me, although some of the team have difficulties often with comedy results :D

Anyways, Pics!

quick question - would a sandisk extreme 60mb/s card work well with the 5dmk3?

Works ok for me, but then I don't 'machine gun' it so can't say how it would keep up.

Have to ask as heard it mentioned a fair bit but what is Urbex / Pyestock?

Put them into google and the 1st result has the answer. Pysstock is an old power station, urbex is short for urban exploration.

Even my 128GB 45MB/s Sandisk SDXC works fine, the buffer takes a few seconds longer to write in RAW but it's no big deal. You have 13 RAW shots in the buffer anyway, fire off a burst at 7fps for say 6 shots and by the time you're ready to fire another burst, 2 or 3 files will have already been written so you'd have 8 or 9 prepped for writing.

Even on the 40D I can't remember the last time I needed to make use of the max 7.8fps filling the buffer and then needing to wait for it to write the buffer. I don't shoot sports though but even for weddings I've not wondered wtf about buffer write times to CF/SD.

The website's loading fine here. I hope all is OK is I'm about to place my order for a 5D Mark III with them!

Website works for me and I've just received an e-mail response from Tina to a question sent by e-mail in the past half hour.

Has anyone worked out what the useful dynamic range of the 5D mk3 is? I get about 9 stop on my 50D, really curious to see how much better the 5D mk3 is.

These are fine I find for " slow " shooting but whilst shooting dressage tests for my wife's riding club I'm maxing out Lexar 1000x cards. To be fair I've found I've modified my shooting style for the equine stuff and dont find it too much of an issue.

Maybe on your parents house insurance as a specified item. The grey import bit is irrelevant.

I've shared this image in the portraits section but thought I'd put it in here as well just to show the amazing iso capabilities of the 5d mk3

This was shot at iso 25k and the image is comparable to iso 3200 on a 5D mk2

Hi,

I'm just wondering that if there's anyway insure my grey import 5D3?

As stated home insurance, but make sure its covered out and about.
Got mine on my business insurance, home, car, car unattended, work, pretty much everywhere and mines from HK.
