Just wondering, does anyone use one of these Hama shutter releases for the 5D. And is it ok? Less than half the price of the canon official jobby.

I don't know about the hama ones but You can buy similar for about £5 or less off ebay, I use them and they are good.

I really should trust ebay more... I hardly ever look on there and automatically assume cheap crop from HK. £5 seems good to me. Thanks :)

Ive got a ir ebay one and it works fine, wouldnt mind a wired one though just as an easy plug and play option.

i got a wire less remote it can be used up to 100metres away and it also work as a wired remote the receiver acts as a trigger too £13.00 quid off ebay and from hk works great:thumbs:

£5 ebay one for me, Works great.

I got a wired one off eBay for my 20D, which I have since given to my Dad for his 5D, and it doesn't work 100% of the time. Having said that the times when I'm using a remote trigger it isn't absolutely critical to trigger at that split second, so will probably get another one.

Mine arrived yesterday... £5 on ebay. Seems a bargain, if a little more plasticy than my Canon 400D one.

do not know if its relevant Lee but I use both an IR (£5 jobby) and a wired one.
Wired is better for macro I have found. You tend to move your body less, therefore less vibration. Just thought I'd mention it

I had both for the 400D, but only ever used the wired one. It's really just for landscapes, I am now in the habit of always carrying my tripod and using remote release.

Wouldn't want to get a blister on my finger :D
